SEALCOATING PROJECT

Our sealcoating project is fast approaching. Southwest Sealcoating will begin this week-long project on Monday, March 1st.   A map outlining the daily work, as well as a listing of the villas affected by the sealcoating each day, is attached to this e-blast and will be posted on TheForestVillas.com website.  Important points about the process are detailed below.

Ø  Forest Villas Circle and Villas Square have been divided into 4 phases. Each section is a 2-day process—one day for application and one day for curing (drying). You will not be allowed to drive on the new surface until after the 24-hour drying period.  We want to avoid getting the wet sealcoat on tires which will leave permanent stains on our curbs and your driveway.

Ø  If you need to use your car during the time your street is being seal coated...

o    Because the Clubhouse parking lot is being coated in Phase 1, these residents may park in the driveways of the designated villas where no one is in residence (see list below) or on the streets NOT in Phase 1. Parking on Forest Villas Circle should be limited to the outside of the circle so no mailboxes are blocked and parking on Villas Square should be avoided.  Because of the width of our streets, parking can NOT occur on both sides of the street.

o    The parking lot will be done in Phase 1 which will allow residents in Phases 2,3, & 4 to park there while their section of road is being done. You may also park on the street in areas not affected. Again, parking on Forest Villas Circle should be limited to the outside of the circle so no mailboxes are blocked and parking on Villas Square should be avoided.  Because of the width of our streets, parking can NOT occur on both sides of the street.

Remember, once they start your phase, you will NOT be able to get in or out of your driveway for 48 hours.

Ø  In addition, it is strongly recommended that you do not leave vehicles in the driveway while your section of the street is being sealcoated to avoid the possibility of overspray, so you will need to relocate those vehicles.

Ø  On Thursday March 6 through Sunday, March 8, the entrance will be down to one side being used by cars both entering and exiting.  Please use extreme caution entering and exiting those days.

Ø  If at all possible, please do not schedule work to be done on your villa during your Phase.

Ø  Regarding commercial vehicles entering during this project:

o    Our landscapers, DTE, have been notified and will adjust their cut & trim schedule during this time period.

o    U.S. mail will not deliver mail on days your street is blocked. Mail delivery will resume for each phase after the 24-hour drying period.

o    Landscape Debris on Monday as well as Trash and Recycle on Thursday will not be picked up where the roads are blocked. You can hold your trash for one week or bring it to another villa where pick up is accessible.

o    If you will be expecting a delivery from Amazon, FedEx, UPS, or other visitors, they will need to be made aware of the temporary inconvenience.

In addition to the Clubhouse parking lot, there are several residents not here now who have agreed to let us use their driveway as alternative parking.  Please be careful to not block someone else in who parked there and needs to get out. Those owners/addresses are cited below.

Phase #1:    6072 Forest Villas Circle  (Hartman)     and     6106 Forest Villas Circle (Wood)

Phase #2:    16920 Villas Square (Flugel)

Phase #3:     ------

Phase #4:     6001 Forest Villas Circle (Howell)     and     6061 Forest Villas Circle (Hargaden)

We know this is a lot of information.  We will be re-sending this e-blast Monday, February 22, 2021 as a reminder and will highlight any changes that may occur.

If you cannot open the attachments or have any questions, please contact Board Member, Rick Starkey at 248-790-3622 (call or text) who is overseeing this project.
